LONELINESS

Loneliness is pain from within.
It presses on your heart
And cripples your skin.

You are a tiny fly
In a million acre desert
Or like a tiny grain of sand on the
million acre beach,
Or the leaf you saw in the million acre park,
Or the sentence you read in the library of a
million books;
A single pane of glass in the biggest city;
The single strand of hair in the barber shop;
The stone in the construction site.

Even when you are in a huge, loud crowd
You’re not there,
Everyone’s oblivious
To the needle in the haystack,
To the snowflake in a lizard,
The fingerprint in the mansion of doorknobs.

You stay when you know that everyone is gone,
You go when you know everyone is still there,
You run when they are walking,
Walk while they’re running,
Talk while they are silent,
Be silent when they’re talking.

You’re just another person to the other person
For he is just another person.
Yet he’s a better fly in the million acre desert than you.
But be that needle in the haystack,
Be that snowflake, the fly,
Be the individual.

MY WONDERFUL TEDDY

It smells of the fun fair at night.
It feels like the feathers on a swan.
The colour of my teddy is dark brown.
It tastes not as good as chocolate.

When my mum and dad were together
Fun was in the air;
Those were happy days when I was five.
When I am scared or have nightmares
I suck his ear!

DULL AND DARK SHOT ME DOWN

Shot down, the whole day simply shot down.
Nobody spoke,
Nothing of meaning was said.
Shot down.
The whole day was shot down.
The weather stayed dull and dark.
I learned nothing new.
My heart felt like it was snatched away,
Nothing to do, nothing to say.
Everything simply shot down.
It was like my heart turned black.
Thinking evil thoughts at the back of my mind.
The day simply just shot down.
